Pairing Question

Although they are technically passerines, canaries tend to be managed uniquely, so here is a forum just for them!

Pairing Question

Post by Lithium » Wed Jun 05, 2013 10:32 am

I was searching around for bird supplies on the internet and I clicked on a site about breeding canaries. It said that certain colors should be bred to certain colors. So that brought up the question for me. What type of male would someone breed to a White Factor Lipochrome hen?

A dominant white should be bred to a yellow ground bird.
The gene for white is lethal when received from both parents.
