Would These Be Safe?
I have a few different sizes of these laying around from when my snakes were smaller;

I'm thinking they'd make interesting perches - I cant seem to find out exactly what they are made of, but since they are safe to use in water and with other animals, I'm assuming they aren't toxic.
What do you guys think?

Re: Would These Be Safe?
I've looked at these before too. I believe, though I'm not certain, that someone on this forum has used these for birds. I don't see why they wouldn't be safe...

That should work perfectly and add a nice variety for the birds to perch on.

I bought some last week and separated them and they are great. My canaries don't seem to mind them.....

Can you call or email the company and find out if they are completely safe for small birds? They may not want to tell you what they are made of (trade secrets), but they should know if there is any potential harm.

The only thought I had is if finches could chew on them and pull off pieces? If not, they're probably fine.

Good idea, I think! Now I feel like I simply must acquire a jungle vine! I used to have several of them when I kept hermit crabs...and I have been looking for something other than a dowel rod that will stretch the length or width of the cage.

They are a bit soft, we used them for our Crested Geckos when we bred them, just watch that your birds do not get nails caught in them...trimming the nails can prevent this. Just checked the section we have stored, it is a bendable wire with a thin soft foam like cover to it.
They are washable to.

Re: Would These Be Safe?
I have those in my finches' cage and even had them in budgies' cage.
They do add a nice variety to their cages.
