Traumatised gouldian

Post by rozani » Thu Jun 13, 2013 12:01 am

Need an expert view on how to overcome this traumatised issue. One of my gouldian hen is traumatised after a civet (similar to fox ) attacked few days ago.Pity her and its my fault. Her health condition is normal and survived without any injuries. But i noticed that she can't fly properly like other goulds did.I've checked her wings and spot nothing. What should i do? Your feedback would be much appreciated.Thanks.

If you have Metacam for finches ( I get a small bottle from my avian vet once a year). Give .01cc by beak for two or three days. In addition, if she is stressed, I'd add Thrive or Vitalize to the water for a few days. She may have been so scared she flew into the cage side and sprained a muscle. Give her a few days to a week. She should recover.

I would just let her be and see if she doesn't come around in time. She may be bruised and your not able to see it.
A little extra heat and hard boiled eggs for added protein and minerals would also be a good idea.

watch for signs of other possible problems and good luck
