My Newbie Birdroom...

Post by Ginene » Fri Jun 14, 2013 8:48 pm

So, this is my bird room. It was the guest bedroom in my house, but I convinced my hubby to help me convert it to a bird room as my 40th Birthday gift. It gets lots of sunlight from a big double wide window and my hubby hung a screen door for better ventilation. The screen door allows us to hear the birds sing throughout the whole house too. :)

How do you maintain it to be so spotless and clean? I only have one cage and I have spillage everywhere.. I guess I need one of those covers for the bottom! did you make them?

Thanks Guys :) ! This room makes me smile ALMOST as much as Lil Joe's nursery did! I order the seed catchers on amazon.com. They are x-tra large. The only one I had to "modify" is the huge one around the long, black cage on the wire shelf. That cage is 60" wide. I simply cut 2 x-tra large catchers and sewed them together. The hardwoods are easy to clean/mop. I keep my Dyson in the bird room. The poop splatter wipes off of the walls easily with unscented baby wipes. I also have OCD  ... But since I have hatchlings in 3 nests right now, I am doing much more sweeping. I don't want to spook the parents or the babies.
