The one I had to raise by hand (societies kept her warm but wouldn't feed her) grew fine and right on schedule on just eggfood (well, egg yolk mixed with warm water).

That is good to hear. It is doing well, and they are feeding it so I am keeping my finger crossed for my first courdon blue baby. :lol:
The reason I questions it was the food sac is a totally different color from when the parents were feeding. It was a sort of green color and now it is more clear. But society finches eat VERY well. Lots of egg food and veggies.
