I can totally relate to the forgetting the bills!!! Lol! And of course the birds having more food in the house than me! I am content with eating frozen waffles for dinner as long as my babies have a 50 course meal!

It's bad too when I am out with my mother going to stores and no matter what store we go to I try to find something I can use for my birds! Even when I am at her place I start digging through her craft stuff to find small things to use as toys, silk plants, sometimes I peek in the fridge at the veggies... lol. When I was at my grandfathers too.. he had these little metal cups he got at a seafood restaurant that they used for melted butter and they are perfect for serving veggies and eggs to the birds!!!

I think the only downside of it all is finding hulls in my morning coffee!! LOL. Thanks guys! The places they manage to get those darn things are unbelievable. I don't know how they even manage it half the time.. especially when it's a corner of the apartment they have never even BEEN in.. and it's not like I have had them for years where things have drifted and made their way all over.. they have been here 2 months!

And the boyfriend is finally getting used to the fact that everything is for the birds. Waking up at 5:30 am to make food for the birds.. opening the blinds despite the fact that he is asleep and it makes them all start singing, reserved food just for them, half the tupperware repurposed for them, no light on past 8pm near them (except the nightlight that is there.... for them!), no loud noises after 8pm! But it's ok.. because I catch him conversing with them every day now too!!

I think hulls are magnetic. They get everywhere. Had one in my salad today at work. Ugh. Should I be eating my birds romaine!?!! Guess not! Gotta get a mini fridge for myself I guess

- you check this site more than your email and Facebook.
- your daughter comes to where the birds are to "look" for you
- supermarket veggie shopping is fun. Holding phone in hand with the feed and don't fee list of veggies and fruits.
- continuously asking your brother in law how and when he will build the page and being a Cagezilla about it.
- wondering if the 4th of July fireworks will give my finches a fright!

I'm promoting their independence and therefore improving their self-esteem, yeah, that's it, it's for their own good.

(before you call dcf on me, the kids are now 7th and 11th grade, and fully capable of feeding themselves the smaller meals. Working on the bigger ones.)

I beat the seed hull problem with a bug vacuum. Just strong enough to suck up hulls, not strong enough to suck up seeds--tada, no more blowing the hulls out of food cups or off the edge of the cage stand.

As for my "you know it's bad when":

You know it's bad when you are staring down the man one table over at a cafe trying to psychically convince him to leave his enormous newspaper behind.

(I really need to start getting the paper. For the birds!)

@sarehptar intrigued about the bug vacuum and totally get the sending thoughts to people about things want for my birds... lol did you read the one where I asked my co-worker for her hard boiled egg shells??
