New Canaries

Although they are technically passerines, canaries tend to be managed uniquely, so here is a forum just for them!

Canary question for '30 seconds to Bob' and 'Beaker'sMom':

Canaries actually prefer to be alone. Especially the males, and especially outside of the breeding season when they would be more receptive to a hen. If your cage were big enough, you may get away with including him in there, but to be honest, I don't know - I've never tried housing canaries with other species.
Canaries sing to attract a mate and to declare territory. True song canaries seem to sing for the sheer joy of it. You don't need a HUGE cage for a single male canary. 24x16x16 will do nicely. Why not get him and get him a cage of his own? Bob
