Prozap

Post by poohbear » Thu Sep 04, 2008 2:47 am

Hiya,
I need somebody in the States to post me Prozap Insect Guard STRIPS
We've got a problem over here with a wet summer...mites are breeding like hell and becoming a major problem.
Apart from other methods I've learned that the above can wipe out mites in a birdroom, but they are not available in the UK.
Can anyone over there be bothered to go to the trouble of finding some(Hardware Store?) and posting them over...I'll gladly send cash in advance for whatever it costs.
I'm afraid I don't know the weight of a pack to work out the cost of post etc.

Hey Poohbear, I just want to make sure you are aware of ALL the information on this item. I have used these type of pest strips (Vapona) years ago (before I had birds), but I'm not sure I would use it in my birdroom for any length of time (especially during breeding season as the babies may have more sensitive respirtory tracts).

Here's a link to the product we have in Canada (Vapona) - very similar.

Let us know if you are still interested in either of these after fully reading the above linked information.

I'm aware of all the risks...Many breeders over here have used these products with no problems...All I can do is follow their advice that birds are unaffected (Including my local avian vet) and that mites are wiped out..

Okay then. I would be happy to post you some Vapona strips. Just let me know how many you want.

If you prefer Prozap - then hopefully someone from the USA will "chirp up" as you first requested.

Prozap contains Dichlorvos...thats the important ingredient.Trying to find someone over here with paypal to make transfer of funds easier.
Guy over here says it has to be strips...he cuts up into one inch squares and sticks to nestboxes...says the number of mites on it next day is unbelievable...it seems to attract them as well as killing.

Hiya,
Can't source them in the UK it's a big international company and can't be approached personally.
I've got some being sorted in the States (I hope) the person involved is waiting for a delivery as they couldn't get it local....then all we have to do is get it over here.
Thanks to those who tried to help...
