Sprouting Millet Spray

Post by Sunbay » Thu Jul 25, 2013 11:01 am

I have been trying this the past week or so.
Silly birds have been acting like they are scared of it, and not eating it.

They just don't appreciate all our hard work sometimes. 8)

Will keep offering it, maybe someone will be brave.

Maybe separate the green from the dried millet and put it in a dish. I bet they eat it like that.

Try what Bill suggested on the fbk page...break it up and put it in a dish or bowl.

I wonder if the damp millet spray might get mildewy fairly quickly. I sprout regular seed but don't leave it out more that 6-8 hrs. Just wondering and cautioning you.

I wondered and worried about the same thing, Perfex. It has taken 3 days to get this far. I rinse in that 'Clean Water' stuff from LadyGouldian before offering it.

Looks and smells ok - hope it is.

Thanks!

Looks good. My birds never enjoyed soaked millet sprays. They do go crazy for soaked plain parakeet seed without any vita color or pellets in it. Even if it's only soaked overnight and hasn't chatted they still love it. I offer it on terra cotta plant saucers. Less work than millet spray.
