NEW BABY GREEN CHEEK!
I was at a local bird mart today, helping some friends with their finches etc. I met a woman who was looking for a home for a handicapped Cinnamon/Pineapple Green Cheek Conure. Well, the baby is about two months old, maybe 3 months. I forgot what she told me, but she's emailing me the hatch date when she gets home today.
At any rate, I just couldn't pass this deal up because he/she was FREE! Now, I just need to get DNA sex test done and decide on an name. This picture is not the best, but her upper beak was bitten off by her parents and so she has the lower beak overlapping the upper beak. She can eat though and seems healthy otherwise.

Thanks everyone! The kids are not home yet from their trip to visit their cousins and grandmother, but I texted them a pic. Jessica is very excited. JC has not responded to my text yet. I'm sure he'll enjoy the new baby when they get home next week.

Green cheeks are very sweet and fairly quiet. A far cry from the obnoxious suns and duskies that I used to own. Good luck with your new baby - I probably would have taken him too.

Can I borrow your quote Bob to show my husband???? Thinking about getting a young turquoise Green cheek after Christmas from my friend when he starts breeding them. We had Maroon Bellied yrs ago, so quiet. We also had a Blue Crown.... it should have come with ear plugs, neat bird but very loud!

Re: NEW BABY GREEN CHEEK!
I got a few more pics of "LilBit". We may change the name after our vet visit Monday since we don't know the sex yet, but LilBit is what the breeder called this baby because of the underbite beak. The vet told me over the phone we'll need to go over some "beak management" and weigh the baby daily to make sure it is eating enough. At any rate, Enjoy the pics of LilBit resting/hiding in her tent. LOL.
