Re: Orlando Bird Show New Birds
Sounds like a productive day! Good luck with the new birds. P.S. How does the Orlando show compare to the local ones we often have in Largo, Tampa and St. Pete? Bob

Yay! How fun!
Wish I could have gone! How much did you pay for the cordon bleus, if you don't mind me asking?

I wish I could have made it. I live about 200 miles south of Orlando.

Re: Orlando Bird Show New Birds
There is another one in October. Billed as "the largest Bird Mart in Florida, if not the Country". Don't know about that - but, it's HUGE!RC#1 wrote: Do they have multiple shows a year at this venue?
My favorite that I have been to.

October 28th. Not really that far off!
Here is a link to the flyer for it.

Re: Orlando Bird Show New Birds
Bob, the Orlando show has a big draw for a good variety of birds. I have bee a vendor for a while at Orlando (missed this last show), Largo, Sarasota, and the Brooksville (Hernado) show.
Each one is a bit different....the Largo and Sarasota shows are smaller and not as busy as Orlando or Brooksville. Brooksville is more of a hookbill of every size show. Not so much in finches or canaries. I was amazed at the variety of hookbills and steady, busy pace the last Brooksville show was. I may or may not be a vendor in October at the Brooksville show, just depends on what I have as far as stock goes. Either way I plan on attending since it is so close.
The Largo ad Sarasota show has a lot of the same vendors from Florida as the Orlando show, much smaller scale.
The Orlando draws vendors from all over the country, just depends on what is in demand or available. Some of the Orlando shows are so busy you can't see the vendors across from our tables.
The local bird club from Sarasota does put on a separate show that is not the same as the other Sarasota show that is 4 times a year.

Re: Orlando Bird Show New Birds
I saw those black-faced firefinches. They were beautiful! I thought about buying a pair...but as it was, I came home with a gaggle of finches.

Re: Orlando Bird Show New Birds
Look up Orlando Exotic Bird Expo for the schedule. They have many events per year. I think this went was much larger than the last one I attended. They do have a lot of hard to find stuff. It's well worth the 2-hr drive (and cheaper than shipping birds from somewhere).RC#1 wrote: Do they have multiple shows a year at this venue?
