Re: Uneasy Owl
So sorry you lost her. I would think if it was just that she was dehydrated, she would have shown big improvement as soon as she had water. It does sound like it could have been a head injury from a night fright. I like those rope lights, that is a good idea.

Thats a shame sometimes they wack there heads hard against roof when night frighted..If your curious you can tell by plucking head feathers off and there will be a nasty brooze..

Re: Uneasy Owl
I didn't check. I buried her in the flower garden. I need to rearrange things to help her mate out. What do you think is best... put him in with the other owl pair, or stick a zebra in with him? I do have a bunch of birds around soon, so I'll just be at that tomorrow instead of next week.zebra zombie wrote: Thats a shame sometimes they wack there heads hard against roof when night frighted..If your curious you can tell by plucking head feathers off and there will be a nasty brooze..
I did buy one of the rope lights. It throws out enough light that I won't need another one.

So sorry you lost the owl finch. Sounds like disorientation and/or neurological, so a head injury makes sense. I wouldn't put zebras with owls due to aggression, but keep him with other owls.

Quail are a good cause of night fright if you have any i dont recomend putting them with any other birds unless chickens or partridge etc..
