Chronicles of "Heckyl & Jeckyl"

Post by EyesofFreedom » Sun Sep 08, 2013 7:45 pm

Well haven't even got them yet and there story has already undergone several event... well today out of boredom I decided to put in some greenery for them because I see so much about how they enjoy their privacy when it comes to breeding...

here is the cage assembled with branches and light dome mounted...

I mounted the nest box on the left side... yeah I know I am taking a risk... but I have found some that have had success with nest boxes... if it doesn't work I will change it over to a half open... looking from the outside...

This is looking from inside the cage...

here is the other side... this side will face the zebra finch cage...

and this is what the whole thing looks like now... 8)

I still have some more but I think I will try it as it is now... I kind of like it... I just hope they do as well...

Congrats on getting a pair of Owl finches! I used to have them, and they are such fun, very curious little birds.

they have been really quiet since I got them home... guess they need time to adjust...

well I know they were born earlier this year so its doubtful they are nine months old yet... but I have noticed Hekyl fluttering around Jekyl today... and then I heard that distinct after mating vibrating sound... and then for the first time I heard Hekyl do a little dadadadada call...

today is a good day!
