Re: boiled eggs
So they will bathe in the soluvite
...that's good...because my birds will only bathe in plain water...i was worried the soluvite might make them stop bathing..

Re: boiled eggs
about 3 months. i had fertility problems with birds in a fully enclose and fully roofed aviary. couldn't figure out why i was getting nest upon nest of clear eggs. i rang vetafarm and told them the problem and they said try this product .
good results in 6 weeks but in actual time ....took about 3 months. now they are all back on track. one pair had 5 nests straight with clear eggs........checked that nest out today 4 eggs laid and 2 young in nest for the first time in many months....so my opinion - it does work.

Re: boiled eggs
That's brilliant..it has to be good if it can make a bird become fertile again..
Im adding it to the water now..if i have chicks this season then d3 is the answer to successful breeding

Re: boiled eggs
april - august -december. my aviaries are all outside and these birds spend a lot of time on the cement floors.
against my better judgement i once purchased 12 gouldian finches which were housed with ringneck parrots - well know as worm carriers. although i asked the seller had they been wormed -his reply no i took the risk @ $10 a head.
i used vetafarm worm out gel as the treatment. only problem within 3 days of treatment 8 had died. i wouldn't have mattered much anyway. birds congested with heavy loads of worms would die anyway....once treated all the dead worms cause a blockage.
lesson learnt - stay away from finches housed with parrots.

Re: boiled eggs
I have been reading on this forum that most pinch breeders are working inches every three months....and using ronivet s or. Rondizal before breeding season every year......i know about worming ....but treating them with ronivet s every year before breeding is a new one....never heard about that before

Re: boiled eggs
There are a few that treat their birds routinely but a lot that don't. Personally I don't see how constantly treating your birds with medicines, especially antibiotics just as a precaution can help your bird build up it's immunity. And if you sell your birds what happens when the new owner doesn't medicate every 3 months?dutch wrote: I have been reading on this forum that most pinch breeders are working inches every three months....and using ronivet s or. That's one of the reasons why if I'm buying a bird the first question I ask is if they treat with medicines routinely, if they do I don't buy, regardless of how good the bird may look.
