Fly high and free, little Fawn

Post by Nerien » Tue Oct 29, 2013 8:45 am

After a long, unknown problem (even consulted with Laraine), my little fawn zebra girl Fawn, passed quietly in her sleep. I have been checking her several times daily for weeks, not wanting to find her gone after her cagemates did. As I uncovered the cage for the morning, there she was in the back edge where she liked to sit, simply laying forward on the grate as if she had just finally relaxed completely.

I will miss you, little Fawn. Fly high and free now.

Thank you all. Because I knew it was coming, and actually expected sooner than this, it's not as hard as usual. I do wish I had been able to make her better, instead of just making her comfortable all this time. And I do regret not making it possible for her to breed for me before she got sick, the little Fawn's babies I will never have.

At least, since she was keeping to herself more and more for such a time, the relationships between the seven remaining zebras in the cage are not at all disturbed, and no one is picking on another or causing problems any more than usual.
