Plugin Air Resheners Safe?

Post by Betrue2yurself » Tue Nov 05, 2013 10:03 pm

I have cared for medium sized birds - cockatiels, GCC -and have used candles and incense. I did not know until recently that these items are not safe for birds. I recently got several finches. Are the plugin air fresheners safe (does not spray)?

Welcome to the forum! There's lots of good reading at the Finch Information Center, linked at left, and the members are always ready to answer questions. As far as the plug-in scents, they are listed at the Finch Information Center as a hazard to avoid. Many members use natural items like potpourri or simmering spices.

The plug ins, sprays, Frebreeze, incense are toxic and can't be used around birds.

This is a topic that discusses the use of some of these products and other natural safe things to use
