Aviary almost ready!

Post by Ria » Tue Dec 17, 2013 11:22 pm

So excited, my hubby and I bought our first house this summer, with 4 bedrooms. one is an office, one for us, one for the future  and one for my birds! I took apart two of my big cages, and used them to build a wall across the room. they'll have a 3.5x8.5 foot area. trying to figure out how to attach some pics here for you all, not quite finished yet, but close - hoping to be able to start moving them in on Saturday!

I'm sure you are going to have some ecstatic finches soon! Great idea to recycle your cages...

you do know you are not fooling any of us. Given enough time you will fill that room with birds! But don't despair, your cages you can recycle again to make a safety door into the room.

a few more pics! I got the door put on this morning, and put my societies in there. boy, we're they confused! hardly landing on any perches, just clinging to the cage fronts. put my female singer in there too, she did not seem so freaked out. next weekend, the 2 zebras and male singer will join them all.

That's a great set up! What are you doing for cleaning there? Is there something on the floor you pull out or will you sweep and mop the floor. I can't tell what the bottom is like from the pics. Can't wait to see the room filled with your finches! Congratulations!
