Spray millet and weather
Just curious if the finch slow down on eating spray millet or if my millet is getting old? The last few months a stick of millet wouldn't last a day. However now that its colder a stick lasts two weeks and still not eaten all. I have 20 finch in each aviary and neither sets of birds seem to interested. However they are still pounding down the seed.???????

Re: Spray millet and weather
I would try buying some new millet and seeing if they eat that. If so, you'll know yours is old or has some other problem they are detecting. I am not aware of weather affecting millet consumption in any way.

My birds still chow down on millet, so the colder weather hasn't affected their appetite for millet. I'd do as Martie suggests.

Re: Spray millet and weather
Millet sprays are likely bad. Most seed mixes have a high proportion of millet in them so if it was a millet issues I'd expect to see a lot of that left in the seed cups too.
