This season I tried an experiment that worked out great. I tried using pairs of two male Gouldians to foster. I set 3 all male pairs up in breeding cages just like pairs of society finches. All three pair bonded and were able to raise a clutch of Gouldians. One of the pairs also raised a clutch of Star Finches and another, ironically, raised a clutch of Society Finches.
Maybe this may help some of you a way to foster without fear of disease or imprinting issues.

Re: Another fostering option
That is very interesting. I had a pair that had eggs hatched and one of the happend to be a silverbill egg. I guess the hen visited their nest.
They tossed it the second day. But they did raise the rest which were their own.
