I had some coconut fibre delivered today and I purchased two new bamboo nests. One smaller than the large covered ones I have now and one cup type (canary). This morning the female was settling in on one of the food cups. She pushed most of the seed out of it, so I thought she wanted an open nest. Just want to give them options and hope they are happy.
Still working on designing a larger aviary that is feline proof. Mounting my current cage from the ceiling has posed its own problems. Thought it was a good idea at the time.
I'll keep you updated if you are interested.

My Societies have taken to the 'canary cup' and started to line it with Timothy hay and coconut fibre. I'm glad they are finally off the food dish (that isn't the only food dish they have, in case anyone is wondering). Guess they are more used to an open nesting environment, which is fine with me. I have better viewing in the event 'little ones' are on the way.
I will still experiment with different types of wood nest boxes that I've found on the internet.
