Before Roseanne and Rocksteady had babies.. I always gave their veggies in a water dispenser.. since i thought hteyd hold better and they can play around in it too.
well after they have their chicks i decdied i should better chop them up so that they ALL can eat it.
So i went back to the inverted water dispensers. The little ones love it.. and of course the parents are fine with it too.
I also JUST IN CASE gave them a thing of chopped veggies.. Nup. Don't want it. Won't touch it.. cause apparently THIS IS FUN!
Apparently.. they don't want it chopped anymore..
less work for me I guess?

Hi. What a nifty idea! I love tha water dispenser thingy to keep grreens frm wilting. Going to have to try that. I chop veggies/fruits into salad but I also hang some up for them to play/eat as they wish. They love it, but the greens wilt really fast. This is a grand idea. Thanks.

isn't it cool! Especially the summer month when things wilt quick... And they enjoy the stemmy parts (mine anyway) and its easier for them to pick at it than get them thin enough that they can chew on ;)
I love how they are all sharing it though..

Just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration!
We're using the upside down waterer for our 'keets, I haven't seen them eating their broccoli yet but I'm sure they will.
More importantly though, you gave me the idea to offer just greens without any prep. My Java's have turned down 'shaved' broccoli half a dozen times, but this morning I just stuck a whole florette in their treat clip and they've been at it like millet all morning. Thanx!

JackoftheGreen
cool, I am glad I was of some assistance!
I do this with broccoli was well and they took to it. I think once thy aren't scared of it (you know how birds are LOL move one thing and they are terrified, put in a new object its the devil in a different form! Until they realize "oh, oft its just a perch guys look see, I'm standing on it!") they are okay with whatever you put in it - kale works great too since they are rough leaves and very big/tall and wide!
It's like the water cooler of the office now they all migrate stick around chill eat stand on it etc!
It's just one step less in the morning and that's a big deal for my household ;)
