Goodbye Ernie :(

Post by Ginene » Tue Jan 21, 2014 4:19 pm

My sweet BCCB Male Ernie passed away today :( . He started with tummy issues in mid November and seemed to recover nicely after 10 days on Ornacycline. I had just started him on 4 in 1 powder Sunday, as he started to look "not himself" again over the last few days. He fought a good fight these past 2 months, but couldn't hold on any longer. Poor Bert is going crazy looking for him, as he was able to see Ernie in the hospital cage. I just wanted to let you guys know and thank everyone for all of your help with Ernie over these past few months.

Ginene OMG I am so sorry!!! Poor little Ernie baby :( I know there is nothing I can say to make things better.. but he is in a better place now.. and at least he got to spend the time with you that he did. You were able to give him a wonderfully loving home to be in. At least now he is at peace and not in pain any longer. Sending you lots of love and condolences! =((

Thanks Guys. He was a real sweetie pie. He just never seemed "right." He was never as healthy or as vigorous as my other birds. I got to spend a lot of time with him this morning and that means a lot to me.

Ginene I am glad you got that time with him!! It still gives me nightmares sometimes to think that I knew Shadow was sick and that I had to wake up to find him with the rest of them yelling :( It's so much harder to let go knowing when they passed away alone like that. It's such a relief to know that you were be there with him and that he was able to experience love until the last moment. *hugs*

Hi Ginene,

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Sometimes we get finches which are never quite as healthy as the others. Regardless of the care, health and love we give them, sometimes their time on this earth is always going to be shorter. Hopefully Bert is OK and your other birds.

Best of luck

Kind Regards
