Hi. I'm fairly new with Lady Gouldians and I have a male Gouldian whom I have been observing. He appears to have some whitish patch on one of his toes which he kind of scratches with his beak. He also rubs his beak on his perch and preens his chest are a lot. And he has some discolorations on his wing feathers. He's been drinking water a little more than usual and sometimes he has watery droppings, but not always.
Today in the morning I also noticed a faint clicking sound, although I'm not hearing it now. Other than the symptoms I described he appears normal. He's happy and singing as usual. But I'm concerned about the things I just told. I would appreciate your help. He makes me happy with his happy chirping and I would hate to loose him and me not knowing what to do.
Thanks.

Hard to tell from the pictures but do you think it could be scaly mites?

Re: Health Concern on Gouldian
He is a Red faced, green back diluted. I'm not sure about his parents I would have to ask. So, his feathers are normal? LOL. I'm sorry since I'm new to gouldians

Re: Health Concern on Gouldian
He is a SF Yellow AKA SF Pastel aka "dilute" in the USA so his back feathers are going to be a lighter shade of green then a Normal.

Re: Health Concern on Gouldian
Do you have canaries?
My canary had this and I was warned that it could be easily passed to my gouldians, the breeder made a spray up for him, it cleared it up fast and my gouldians never got it.
The clicking though is more like air sac mites, I routinely treat mine 3/4 times a year for it as I lost my very first gouldian to ASM, not pretty, even after antibiotics which appeared to clear it up he still passed away:(

Re: Health Concern on Gouldian
I don't have canaries, Lorddaxter. Although when I bought him, the woman who sold him to me had canaries. In fact, he came along with a canary that I bought for my grandma. The canary passed away, but I think it might be because she used to feed him spinach everyday and I read that you can't feed it to birds everyday because it depletes them of calcium, meaning they can't absorb it very well as a result of the spinach.
What do your breeder used on the spray, can you find out?
Thanks.
