I'm certainly enjoying the thread. Glad everyone else is to. I've gotten a lot of laughs. I'll have to think of some more.

You know it's bad when...

You spot an ad for a big cage, and hubby gives his okay because he says, "if it will reduce the number of cages, then that's good"

and you laugh to yourself and think, who's he kidding?

You know it's bad when your (ex-cop) neighbor accuses you of building a grow house for pot because of the lights you have hanging in your windows that you keep on at night to serve as a night light for your finches.

I feel awful about it, but making dinner is one of my least favorite mom jobs. Laundry is at the top of the least favorite list! But cooking up yummy goodness for baby birds brings me joy :) And I do it multiple times a day. Lol! Thank God for Friday nights...we usually order in dinner on Friday nights.

Maybe it's because the birds show more appreciation for our efforts.

Ginene haha!!! My daughter is at times fussy being 3 and all.. I usually make things from scratch and when she pushes it away and says "im done" after a bite I say "why do i bother.." lol my birdies are happy with anything. QUINOA?... "OMG GUYS!! She made us some quinoa!! OMGGGGG YUMMMMMM!!!" they eat it like they are cookie monsters LOL

@Nerien This is totally the reason. any little thing I do for the birds they are so happy about it.
Us humans.. eating is normal so why appreciate it >>> apparently!

You know it's bad, when the dog sneezes in your face and out comes a zebbie fluffy that floats in the air, then lands on top of your head. Doggy went cross eyed, and so did I.

True story...totally happened a few days ago:

You know it's bad when...

...you just finished sweeping the floor of the bird room and have amassed quite a pile of seed, hulls, pellets, nesting material, etc. You step inside to grab some food and a water pitcher and come back out and begin feeding and watering the fids. When you're done you go to sweep up the pile into the dustpan and throw it over the fence for the wild birds to pick through and the pile is gone. There's like to emu feathers left. Puzzled you look around and see Anya (the previously mentioned American Eskimo/professional panty snatcher) followed you out into the bird room ever so sneakily and has a fluffy feather and a few pieces of hulls stuck to her nose while wagging her tail clearly asking if there's anymore. And really i thought to myself well guess the outside birds don't get anything to sift through today and went on about my business.

And it's nice to know who to yell at if there's an accident in the house. Seed filled poop is a clear give-away.

You lock your self out of the house and your main concerns are the birds. OMG!!! They will die if I don't get in ASAP. Forget the fact that I'm freezing and getting frostbite!!!

You know it's bad when you're kid gets locked out of the house, but you are 45 minutes away from home.

(Don't worrry. I got home in time. She hung out with our dogs in the back yard til /i got there)
