They're not going through any moult yet. This is her second clutch and his first clutch this season.

Liz, it might be the end of the breeding season for Gouldians around these parts. One of my pair had one clutch and now they aren't interested anymore. They are currently molting.

Hmmm, from what I was told and understood, breeding season goes from mid-September until February / March (fall and winter) roughly. No?

I also thought that if given the right temperature and duration of lighting, you could breed Gouldians year round.

All my Gouldians are molting right now, except for one pair who keep laying just one egg and then throwing it out of the nest.

I think most of the Gouldians worldwide are in molt from what I read, right?

Mine are just winding down from breeding and will start to molt in a few months.

all of mine are moulting at present. I'm enjoying watching them though due to the new birds I got a month ago. they were all uncoloured to start with but now I am able to see what colours there are. there is even a couple of white breasted ones amongst them and so far its an even split male/female
Addicted to Finches, yes I do admit it.
I pray they never find a cure.

Me thinks that seeing what colors and sexes you're going to get is the second biggest surprise!
