I have read a lot on egg food. Is scrambled also acceptable?

I don't use scrambled eggs. I hard boil mine and pulse in a food processor with some dry eggfood to help it stay crumbly, instead of wet or sticky. I guess if your finches eat the scrambled egg, it would be alright. Only problem I can think is how do you cook the eggs, type of pan, butter, oil, etc may not be healthy.

When I had my tiels, I combined veggies and the egg, wisked with a fork and microwaved them. I know tiels and finches are different, hence why i am here :) so if egg food is preferred I can do that. Can you mix veggies in with it? Thanks!

Aerithny scrambled eggs would be fine as long as you don't use ANY milk in them.. or use butter or oils.. thought a tiny bit of olive oil to fry them would be ok.. I have heard a few people use it. And you mixing in veggies would be ok! I am sure you already know what kinds of veggies are bird safe considering you have had birds before. Finches like leafy greens, and broccoli.. with the broccoli I shave the tops so it's tiny little seed sized pieces and they go nuts for it. If I give it to them whole they run away and glare at it like it's an enemy. For lettuce.. I basically mince it.. otherwise same deal.. a new enemy.

Absolutely, you can add anything they like to eat into an eggfood mix or an eggbread etc. Microwave should be fine. Finches tend to like eggfood crumbly in texture and not too wet or sticky. There is a sticky on eggfood in the nutrition section which may be helpful.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes I never add milk, butter or any oils. Just veggies. Since they have been here just a few days, I stuck with millet and seed/pellet mix with some peas. I know millet can be a comfort food. But I am going for greens etc. After work tomorrow to start them on.

I offer scrambled eggs too and my guys enjoy it.

I'll beat them up and microwave for 1 min -- perfect for 2 eggs.

I'll microwave the shells separately for about 30 sec. This dries out the membrane and cooks any remaining egg whites. Once the membrane is dried out, they're easier to crush.

Then, I'll mash up the eggs with a fork and sprinkle in supplement powders.

I'll crush the egg shells and mix those in.

I also dice up some kale and celery and other veggies -- whatever I have on-hand.

ETA -- I microwave instead of using the stove because I've read that no-stick pans give off toxins that are deadly to birds. And I found it's a bit of a mess if you try to cook them on a plain pan, without a no-stick surface.
So microwaving works really nicely! No mess.
