Aerithny, finchmix22 is an expert and makes total sense (as always) to me! Feather Fast is a powdered supplement that helps with feather growth. Hopefully the nest material will be a nice distraction for your male. Good luck :)

What is feather fast? Featheriracle grow? Lol
FEATHER FAST is dietary supplement that you sprinkle over food such as fruit, vegetables, soaked seed or softfood. When using this feather fast, discontinue using any other vitamin-containing supplement.

One week update

Post by Aerithny » Sun Mar 09, 2014 10:57 am

Well Link and Zelda are quite different then they were last week. They are active flying in their cage, hanging on the plants, eating veggies and Zelda chirps her little head off. Link I noticed isn't singing or chirping yet, but I am sure he will soon. Hoping to see her head feathers growing back soon, they haven't placed with their nest or coco fiber yet. But for the first week, I am very happy! My favorite thing is every morning when I uncover them, and they are squished together on the swing.

Aerithny

I moved this last post to the topic about Link and Zelda, so that others can follow the whole story. Glad to hear things are looking up!

I missed they were cordon blues, sorry. Still, if you don't want babies, nests, etc. The feather fast and coco fiber is adequate. BTW, they don't need to be covered at night, as they can have "night frights" which is when they panic when they are startled and since they can't see well, they fly into cage bars and get injurded or worse, I keep a blue night light on for my finches and close blinds, but I don't cover cages.

I remember night frights quite well from when I had my cockatiels. So that is why I covered them, with part of the cage uncovered with the nightlight next to it. Habit on my part really. I also like to know they are warm at night. Thanks everyone for your help :)
