That's exactly what I use, chirpy - the terra cotta plant saucers and it definitely helps! They still manage to make a mess, but a thin layer of seed helps keep them from throwing stuff around looking for their favorites. I like to think the rougher surface helps keep their nails worn down a bit too. They aren't as easy to clean as the glazed ones tho, and take forever to dry (I put them on a space heater).

Feel better soon!

mayble ah! i forgot they take FOREVER TO DRY!!!! boo :( But i love the smell of terracotta though! the lady i house sat for. her bathroom was terracotta esque tiling IN THE SHOWER and im guessing it actually was terracotta because it did take forever to dry. it smelled earthy.. and wonderful while i showered :)

I do think the roughage is good for their nails...? its quite fine sandy roughness. I will get them a nice sized tray cant hurt!

lovezebs thank you very much. Woke up to an even more congested Lacey poor girl. Her docs said cough suppressants aren't good for little children they should really HACK it up so its that dreaded "let it run its course" thing.. Im letting her eat whatever she wants. Shes not very hungry. I stocked up on juicy friits to hydrate and shes sucking on pedialitte popcicles. As for my same old. Same old. Made strong coffee... Can't taste it LOL. Probably cause I can't smell.
I feel like painting a big X at the front door LOL

Hi Chirps.
When my guys were little and had the 'let it run it's course', and were coughing up half a lung, I used to make them a mixture of raw honey, lemon juice and hot water. Amazingly enough, it works wonders and doesn't taste bad (as medicinals go). Both you and hubs can have it too, it's very soothing..

Goodluck to all of you.

Can I pay someone to outlive this cold?
I feel worse. Horrible... Probably cause I was up til 3am doin homework and was woken up at 7... I have zero energy. I have to do it all again. A 35pager due tomorrow.
I tried to take a nap in my daughter room w her playing... But she started crying about wanting pizza.
Well I have none. And I have no frozen dough I usually have stocked.

I wish I had lemons. Ironic as it is lol.
As Jason being partially Mexican you'd think we'd have SOME type of citrus.
I do have honey... But its not something I particularly like. But I guess I need to put my big girl panties on make some honey tea. Ill make her a weaker version of what I'm drinking.. Shell love the tea. I don't ever give her tea.. Its funny. I don't give her soda thinking she has all her life to drink that garbage so why start early (yes.. I'm one of "those" moms) she now HATES soda we went to a restaurant where they had no apple orange juice just soda. We to her sprite and she was like what is this stuff. Gross.

I'm blabbing.
I wish I had my family near by. I'm 30, wanting my mommy. LOL

Hi Chirps.

Like I said about the move, this too shall pass.
You know sweety, I''m 56, and I still want my Mommy. Regretably, she is no longer with us. I guess I'm old enough to be your Mommy and then some. LOL. There are times in life, when we just want to be hugged and told that everything is going to be ok and knowing that Mom will make it better.
Well, I'm sending a hug your way, and I'm telling you, everything really is going to be alright.

Thank you ladies!

I know its going to pass. LOL I'm a BIG BIG BIG BABY (not as bad as Jason no.. That's on a different level)
Thankfully Lacey fell asleep when I laid down watching cartoons for two or three hours. Not sure if she was not feelin well or lol she was still mad about pizza!
I am thankful she isn't as conjested as me - I wonder if its my asthma that makes everything worse..?

Hopefully tomorrow I will be a new woman!

Thanks again.. I appreciate the kind words :)
