what do you feed your babies if you had to hand-feed them

one more thing how do i no if the parents abandoned the babies or the nest or stop feeding

There are commercial hand rearing foods available...the babies crops will be empty if the parents fail to feed.

Hand rearing tiny finches is VERY difficult and usually finishes up a disaster.
