I have a flight and two cages in my family room and the two cages are on top of the entertainment center with the TV smack below their cages in the middle. The finches do not seem to mind, but I turn down the volume after 9pm, since that is lights out for finches, but in the summer it'll be later, maybe 10pm. We listen to our TV set on 35-45 volume.
Where to put cage in my apartment?

finchmix22 thank you!
It looks like I have my tv on too low lol. I feel like a crazy woman!
Or maybe... ... My tv is very loud!
I just worry with him coming home late and watching TV til later they will stress....
More enjoyment for me in the living room, more uninterrupted sleep for him in the bedroom.
Louder in the living room for them.
Decisions decisions!
I am probably over thinking.. They will be right next to the TV. I will move their roosting perch to the other side of the cage so that they are further away from the TV though.

They'll be fine chirpy! My finches and parakeets just sleep while the TV is on, even late at night. If it's late, I keep the family room lights off and just the light from the TV is on.

finchmix22 thank you
the thing about hub is that HE HATE LIGHTs. I think hes a bat.. he hates hates hates lights.
He doesnt see why I have to have lamps on. I would be crocheting (which is something i can really get into after my daughter goes to bed) and hes whining about how "bright" it is!
If i want to eat around 10pm (that is when I get hungry since I eat so early) and flick on a light.. the look he gives ... I dont want to eat in the dark.
So I guess that is one thing I don't have to worry about with him.
I keep forgetting that birds live in the wild where there are lights everywhere unless in the country.. with noises and such..

Re: Where to put cage in my apartment?
chirpy LOL at everything being loud to her. Are you on the 1st floor? I am on the 3rd floor so it is tough for people to see unless they are also high up. I don't keep them outside anymore, I have a patio set that I keep outside which takes up space on the patio and it might seem a bit much to keep a large cage out there so I downgraded to a breedable cage and downsized my societies.

Re: Where to put cage in my apartment?
chirpy They'll be fine. Just get your husband to agree to a schedule for lights out with the bird's light and you two can compromise. It'll work.
