I don't work there anymore sadly. I'm working at the front desk at a hotel while I'm in school. (Of course I also moved about an hour and a half away with my boyfriend to go to school and love with him vs driving back and forth all the time.) I help some at the local mom and pop shop but she can't really afford me full-time. (Well I think she could because I sell more than she does. But I'm not burned out after owning the store for 20 years like she is. I actually get up and help people.) Although I will be babysitting the store while she's at a big expo this summer. So that should be fun. I'm still friends with most of the breeders I met through the store and some of the girls still at the pet store.
My dream one day is to actually own my own store one day. I think I'd like the challenge of it and when I'm in charge of it wouldn't have some of the issues that I had to put up with at Petland under the previous owners.

Now that's a good rule! Shows that someone at the shelter is thinking about more than just getting the birds out of the shelter.Hilary wrote: One thing I really like about my local animal shelter is that if you want to adopt a bird you have to first show them the cage you're planning to use. Inappropriate cage = no bird to take home.
