Hey Mandie.
What do you think? A flight cage with all the bells and whistles. One Gould hen. One Cut Throat male, and three Societies. 160.00 (?)
Considering prices here,not too bad.
Goulds range between 140.00 to 200.00
Societies between 30.00 to 40.00 each
And Cut Throat somewhere around 90.00 to 100.00
Now a flight cage, can be very expensive. A very small one, no less than $90.-something.... Don't know the size of this cage as yet. She was going to measure it.
I mean it's not a done deal 'till the fat lady sings, and I'm not about to start singing till I get to see it all. Usually don't buy cat in the bag. I would at least open the bag anyway LOL.
Doesn't hurt to go look and if everything looks on the up and up, then might just be bringing them home. A Gould girl to keep Jaxom company. I love Socies. And never had a Cut Throat before, so...
I'm hopeless aren't I? :)) :)) :))

She suggested Tuesday. Her daughter is away till then and will want to see them all once more before they go. Apparently, she's the one who got
them for Mum, to keep her entertained and occupied before mum got too sick. Kind of a sad story really.
Well we'll see what next week brings.

How are your new kids doing? Hope they are settling in nicely.

Saw a picture in a magazine, of what would make a nice bird room. What do you think??? When I win the lottery. :)

lovezebs I hope it all works out for you and you get to keep the little ones =D>

My new lot are doing well, although as I said I rehomed the Cubans last night so I only have the Gouldians and Strawberries, but even so they are super pretty. The weather is not so good here so they are in the back room in one of the bigger flight cages for now until we get a break in the weather.

I would shift in with you if you had a bird 'house' like that, move on over here I come with my fluff balls. Sorry hubby and kids, I am outta here. =)) Imagine how awesome that would be WOW.

:YMDAYDREAM: :YMDAYDREAM: :YMDAYDREAM: LOL.
The minute I saw this picture my eyes sort of glazed over. Then my brain went to work decorating. Trees, vines, flowers, tiny waterfalls...
Birds everywhere....
Be still my thundering heart, getting a little flushed there....Need some ice water, need a fan, need air conditioning, need ten million dollars... 8-}

I just saw on the news that your end of the world is getting some bad weather. Stay safe.

lovezebs Too funny...we are so similar....dreamers addicted to finches.

Problem with the lotto is that I cant afford a ticket =)) so all the dreaming I do is useless !!!

The weather is not as bad here as it is further up in the next state, so we are lucky, just horrible cold rainy weather here. To think a month ago we had a month of 40's and now we are down to 15's and lower at night, but I am sure over there are a lot colder places than here in Melbourne.

I really miss being able to sit out with the birds drinking my morning coffee, mid morning coffee and lunch, then afternoon snack, then about dinner time I go back inside the house. Now its too wet and cold

Are you going to be getting any pics of the new potentials?

Glad to hear that the bad weather is not affecting you. Hope Bill and Dutch don't get any damages.

As to the potential maybe's, so far got a picture of the little Gouldian hen, posted on pg 3.

Our weather is driving me nuts. Another dump of snow today ( this time very wet and heavy) We've had snow since October. Yeash. Temps are not bad now, hovering around -3 to 3's, which beats -38 or so.

lovezebs I don't think Bill or Dutch are in Queensland where the tornado is supposed to hit, they are in another state.

Sorry, I did see the Gouldian picture, very sweet indeed.

How in the hell do you manage in that weather? I hate the cold, I love the 40 degrees days much more than the winter. How do the birds survive? do you have to heat the aviary at all? or do you have them all inside in flight cages? bbrrrr shivering.

Regretably no aviary. Not practical here unless you really build it like a house, with heated insulated indoor area and an outdoor that is only opened up in summer. Some people do it, but I'm not one of them. My kids are kept indoors. See why I need that 'bird palace'? For which I need the winning number. :-D

As to the weather here... You adapt or you die lol. Seriously, one just has to get used to it. It's taken me forty six years to sort of get to a point where I've learned to tolerate it , and I've been here forty six years and three months... =)) =)) =)) ... I was born around the Mediterranian, so you can imagine the adjustment that was when parents brought me to Canada at a tender age...   :(( :(( :((... You dress in many layers, go outside as little as possible, and develope a rather twisted sense of humor to help you cope.
