Well, I'm happy to hear the little chick is doing well! That's a good thing!
So I take it that dad's doing a good job with feeding? Or are they getting better at self-feeding?
I might move her to another location where she can't see her family; might make it a bit easier for her?
Do you have a friend you could pair her with? Perhaps another female to keep her company?

I have been following your story...I am happy to hear your chicks are coming along. Hopefully, your sweet mother bird will become stronger with a well deserved break. Best of luck to you and your little zebra family

Re: 'Dammit's' New Name is Angel!
I have absolutely nowhere else I can put her. I now have our "family" parakeet on the dining room table. Mostly because he's so funny and says about 100 words. We love to watch him. The only other place to put her would be in the bedroom with me and I sleep from 6:00am on now. I'd never get any sleep with a bird in the room. They have their own room and it's full. I have no more available matches. The only thing I have are seven chicks that might be future room mates. I think she'll be alright. She's not constantly upset, just when they scream to eat, and that shouldn't continue much longer. I feel badly but it can't be helped. At least she can eat, gain weight and grow her feathers back. He's very healthy!!! He was in the nest with all three today and they are all very active. I think their bellies are much fuller tonight because he can keep up with their needs. I think only the one is eating seeds and such but today I gave them a lot of dried parsley and small seeds, egg food, for when they do finally start. I've had a lot happening today, people in and out so I couldn't watch much. Thanks Mia, Ginene!

The first post ! OMG too funny -- like the 2 year old child who thought his name was Matthew NO.
My dog passed away in Oct., he was my heart dog. His mom had buried him as soon as he was born, so I dug him up and bottle fed him. "Here you go, little Fella," I would say. So I never got to name him because he answered to... Fella.
But yes...angel's a better name. Hrmm. I would never name my pets funny names... Bad Bird...., Hippo (cat)... Broaster (rooster).

Some birds are not meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild.

Sorry your dog passed away! It's heartbreaking to lose a dog. Just like losing a family member.
Yes angel is definitely a better name. Poor bird. Such a rough life. I hope it gets better from here, now that she's back with her babies, and they are okay with it.
Haha....your names are cute. I know about funny names too. My first dog was named Gringo (a girl mind you). She was a little black terrier that looked like Toto on the Wizard of Oz. She was the BEST DOG EVER!!! The story of how I got her.... My younger sisters/mother lived in another state a couple hours away. There were Mexican migrants picking onions in the black dirt of Pine Island NY. They were ready to leave to go elseware to pick...whatever because the season ended. Out of the litter, "Gringo" was the runt and they couldn't take her with them. They told my sister they were going to drown her...so she brought her home to my mother and was allowed to keep her. So...it was the Mexican migrants that named the black dog Gringo. My sister got married, was moving to Arizona, gave me Gringo. She moved there for 1 month, hated it, moved back but I refused to give her back the dog. My kids were attached. So I had her 17 years 3 months.
~My daughter had a cat, when she was grown and out of the house. She named it Augie Weedlemeyer. I just don't know about that one!
