Your welcome. The NV Powder is an electrolyte...the same as Pedialyte but better because it has other things in it. And I have to say, if I didn't have it I would make my own electrolyte solution because Pedialye has a lot of things in it that are unnecessary, like food coloring and a lot of other things. Some of them have caramel coloring and that's bad for human livers...so I just imagine it might be bad for bird livers. I'm pretty crazy about the natural stuff having cancer and doing homeopathic treatments, I've learned a lot. I really try to go all natural/organic as much as possible. Thanks for caring and all your input MiaCarter. :)

Wow, I didn't know that about the coloring!
My pedialyte is the "unflavored" so it's clear.
Does that have anything harmful?

In the "Parent's Choice" generic Walmart brand, the ingredients are: water, dextrose, potassium citrate, sodium chloride, citric acid, sodium citrate, zinc gluconate.

clear and unflavored pedialyte is fine. I use the NV powder or Thrive, same concept with stressed birds

That's the one I use with my hand feeding formula for the first day or two with a new hatchling. I've never had a problem with it, but I've always used the clear.

I didn't know they made a clear one. They only sell strawberry flavor and the powder packs ( these have caramel coloring and artificial flavors) here, probably because of the long distance people have to drive to the stores and the harsh weather so they can keep it on hand. I'm happy you clarified that. :)
