Justin, you should go over to the post on the "Diet and Nutrition" forum. It's "Ingenious use Ice Cube Trays (Vacation Feeder). It's a really good idea for when you go on vacation and have others watch your birds...as you spoke of earlier on another post.

Hahaha yes MiaCarter he is gorgeous. Squirt was my dads dogs name, so in honor of my dad (cause he loved that dog to the moon and back) i named him squirt lol.

Oh thanks Corkysgirl. I will definately check that out! Already sounds interesting

I'm still pretty new to the birds myself and know I have a lot to learn so with that being said, what is a CFW? I need to check out the vacation post too.

Just got home from rescuing these 3 lovely finch… never had an all white male before! And i got a beautiul society ill train to foster. I also got a zebra male thats not in good condition. Hes flying and singing but his feather have been plucked of the back of his head and all around the neck (poor guy) he seems to be growing new feathers there. So thats a huge plus!

Nice birds Justin! Sad about the male zebra. He looks like he's had a rough time. But I'm sure he will be happy you brought him home with you. :)

Im sure he is happy hehe. I have him in a cage by himself until he feathers back up. And gets healthier.

@Corkysgirl i have a question. I have a nice 40 gallon reptile tank. Do people keep finch in tanks? It has a wire lid. (Thats what they keep them in at the store etc and ive seen people create beautiful habitats in them

I have limited knowledge about this. Some people do it but usually for a brooder box. Some things you need to consider. Sometimes they panic and will fly into the side when they see their reflection. What will you do with them when you need to clean it...as they will easily fly out? Also, it will hold moisture in more as it's closed in on all sides, save one, therefore possibly breeding mold. Just some thoughts on the subject. Some people do it with large ones, put stickers and such on the windows to prevent flying into the walls, remove one side and put a screen, etc. Read..."My GOOD Christmas Present." http://www.finchniche.com/community_aviary15.php :)
