Empty Nest Syndrome? Jessie Is buzzing around

Post by Strickalator » Thu Nov 20, 2008 5:55 pm

 Jessie my female zebra has been for 4 days since I took the last egg out (none of them ever hatched and were not fertile) been flying around the top of the cage alot near the nest back and forth to each side of the cage. Bobbie The male zeeb will meep at her and she will meep alot back as he is working on the nest again. Is this normal or is she unhappy with the nest and is telling bobbie to fix it? There are new birds in the cage also but they have been getting along fine its just that jessie seems very unsettled about the nest right now. They are still both sleeping in it but jessie wont mate with bobbie at the moment.

It could be because you put new birds in the cage with them ,guarding her territory?
