Cordon Bleu wanted- Seattle, WA

Post by Finch2318 » Sun Jul 27, 2014 1:13 am

I have a beautiful blue called CB male and he needs a female to keep him company. Wondering if anyone is willing to part with one? Or direct me to someone that may. I checked "the finch farm" and she doesn't currently have them!

Thanks!
Sylvia

Finch2318 -- Hi Sylvia!

I was just shopping on Paradise Earth and they have blue capped cordon bleus for $60.

The only problem is that you need to purchase at least $250 of birds, plus shipping ($120+). But if you needed a few others, it would definitely be worthwhile.

Or if you know someone else who needs a bird in the area, you could go in together. I've been meaning to ask, myself on this point!

I have seen them online too but the problem is that I only have room for one more at this point. I want to expand my aviary but it might be a little while. That's a good idea about going in on some birds... I don't know anyone else that has finches though in this area.

There are quite a few great breeders in the Pacific Northwest area. The best advice I can give anyone is to join a local club, if one is available. It is all about networking. Through meeting other local breeders, you learn about their networks of friends/breeders. You may find someone who is also looking for some new birds and is willing to share shipping costs. You have an active club in your area, look into it. They also put on a show each fall, where there are many birds offered for sale.
