I feel so horrible,I was working hard on making a safe place for the cage to be hung from a wood perch I got , where I had hung it was to weak
and it fell, so at 3 am jessie my female finch darted out of the cage and screamed and now she has feathers missing from her head and its all skin. When I went to check it at 3 am 2 days ago it looked like what would be a scrape, so I applied aloe vera to the spot, its all clean and just skin now, no blood and she seems fine now but bobbie and jessie are mad at me and its like I am starting all over again to get thier trust, I have had them for almost 2 months now.
Anyways it was a scare, I thought jessie was dead, thankfully shes all better.
In the future is there any other thing for scrapes like that I can use besides aloe vera to help or did I use the right thing by applying a fresh aloe vera leaf on her head?
I have since re-done the cage where it hangs and it is not going to fall now, I am new at this so I hope my finches forgive me
