gouldians galore!

Here are all my little babies along with one of the moms. They LOVE this swing in the aviary. It was a Kodak moment!

Wow, they look really good. I have a 5 day old gould with a pair of socities and he is doing well with the 2 and a haf week old socities. And i have goulds sitting tight on 3 fertile eggs.

Oh Donna - they look wonderful... so does that swing!! Very colourful!

I just had one pair of Gouldians hatch 3 babies 3 days ago and just tonight another pair have hatched 1 with 3 more eggs that look ready to pip any second. The 10 weaned juvies are not colouring up yet. How old are those in your pic above, Donna? So cute!!

Liz,
The two on the left that are already coloring up have been out of the nest almost two months. I have been really surprised how quiickly they are coloring up.

The ones on the right have only been out of the nest about ten days. They are already beginning to show some pin feathers of color.
Do they always color up this fast?

I had a juvie that I traded someone for last summer and it took about eight months for it to color up.

BTW, Mario, my orange face yellow gouldians has been sitting on eight eggs. Again! I have no idea what to do with all these gouldians!

They all look like they have very good conformation. Looks like you are doing something right.

I think you should have no trouble selling them if you are willing to let them go. Looks like they are coloring up nicely.

Thank you. They are a mix of two sets of parents. One set had two clutches with only two babies in each clutch. They seem to be healthier when there is less to take care of.

The others are from another set of parents.. They had five babies.
One of the little yellow ones died a few days after fledging. They wouldn't feed it for some odd reason..

But all these are doing great. They beg very little now for food.

What a cute photo...they all are so pretty....and that swing thing is the coolest. Your birdies are so spoiled rotten!

That is a keeper photo....better get that into your birdie brag book right away!
