Does anyone know of any finch shows/fairs in British Columbia, Canada? Or where I could find out this information? I have tried to google this information several times with no success.

Hi Derk.
Same problem here in South Alberta. Although some group here in Calgary is advertizing a new bird club starting up. Maybe that will bring something here. That however will still put you twelve hours away, if the roads are good. Not much help to you. Try looking up Bird Clubs etc. maybe there will be something there.
Goodluck fellow Canuck.

After I sent my post I did some 'googling' and I did find a bit of info but nothing in my area and everything was for last fall or further back. You might be able to help me though - Albertans are such wonderful people! Guess where I was born? Anyway, what I am really looking for is a new bird supply. I am having difficulty finding several waxbill species - fire finches, gold-breasted waxbills, and lavenders - as well as zebra mutations. Currently, I am looking into importing birds from the USA.
Oh look! You've laid an egg! Congratulations!

Fellow Albertan??? Who grew up in Labrador, and now lives in Vancouver.... Boy you sure get around, don't you?
As to different birds... I honestly don't see too much over here either, but then I've just been playing with looking around to pass the time during this awful winter.
I spoke to a fellow the other day who advertised fire finches (m/f) . But when I got him on the phone, he confessed to having only a few females for sale. The one lone male he'd had, who was housed with five females, had escaped and committed suicide in a bucket of water. The rest of his birds were paired up, and I don't think he was intetested in selling them. Maybe will have infants in future, but don't know for sure, and then again, not sure of quality of birds.
My fav pet shop here, claims that they are willing to order birds in for you if you request, but their prices are quite high. They order from down east somewhere, but were not very forthcoming with the information as to who or where they order from.
Will keep my eyes open however, and let you know if I see anything intetesting in the area Dirk. In the meanwhile, kind regards from 'friendly' Alberta.

I thought I read there was a bird mart at the Agriplex in Cloverdale.

Guys there are several "bird marts" in and around the Greater Vancouver Area, specifically in Langley and Surrey. These are held during the summer and fall months. The organizers post their events in Kijiji - Vancouver. You can also use Kijiji to look for birds for sale in the province. Go to Kijiji Vancouver and then click on "birds for sale".

Ponytail Joe comes to bird marts held in Langley/Surrey area a couple of times a year.
He has a website, but doesn't always get around to answering emails promptly. You might want to call him to find out when he'll next be in the lower mainland (if that's where you are). I think he's in Peachland area.

I've seen his birds at the marts, and he seems to always have a great selection, of waxbills in particular, and decent prices.
There's a mart coming up May 25, in South Surrey ...

Re: Finch Fairs/Shows in BC, Canada?
Thanks everybody! I am sorry to reply so late but I have not been able to get to the forum for some time. I do know of Joe and the Surrey Bird Mart. I was hoping to find more. I have done a lot of searching including using Kijiji and Craig`s list but it seems the bird`s I like are few. Franny your art work is beautiful!
lovezebs...I hope you are still on the forum. My older brother just moved from the States to ....you guessed it....Alberta - just South of Calgary.
