Millie, coming along very well. I put a little ladder swing I the cage for her today. She had to try it right away and promotly fell on her head. Undaunted, she got up and managed to have a little swing. Yay!!!

At the time, my pair of Green Singers were still in there with Zebbies and Shaft Tails. I didn't realize that they were that far along in their breeding cycle. I think it was Harper, my Green Singer male.
They have since been moved into their own newlywed apartment, and she's sitting tight on three eggs.
Little Millie is still in a small cage on her own, until those flight feathers have a chance to grow back.

You asked....How long does it take for a whole set of flight feathers to grow back? Does anybody know?

Depends.
If they're plucked out entirely, it takes around 10-14 days to grow to full length.

If they're damaged but not plucked out entirely, it can take weeks. If they're only lightly damaged, you may need to wait until the next molt.

She's looking great!

Thanks for info. I think the feathers are gone. Her wing looks like the wing of a baby chicken.
She does look pretty good, doesn't she? She's my pretty little girl. :-)

Hello Fellow Finch Lovers.
Little Millie can fly!
This morning as I went to clean her little cage, she went ' Beep' and said: 'Look Ma, I can fly!'

She's been so wanting to get back to her friends, that I put her back in the flight.
And what a welcome they all gave her. There was singing and dancing in the streets. My new male Zazu, had to introduce himself with his best song and dance, which she promptly ignored , giving him the cold shoulder. Then she went to cuddle with Talia and Micky, and what a look of contentment, snuggled between her two step sisters.

A happy ending folks... (we hope).
