I'm wondering if there are additional eggs in the other nests, but I haven't looked yet. I was hoping the owls would lay again. It took them all a bit of time to settle into their respective homes after I moved them all into this flight, but the owls did end up in their original nest. Now I'm hoping they will lay again.

The societies and the owls had eggs they were sitting on when I moved them over, but with the excitement of the new cage, the owls quit sitting, which I figured would happen. They only had one viable egg anyway, but it died in shell. The societies' eggs were obviously not harmed.

Do you have buyers for all those Society babies? Society's breed like rabbits and only sell for $10-20 depending on the mutation and if they are closed banded. Just hope you don't get too crowded, given the eager breeders you have.

No worries, I have a deal with my local bird shop. They take my birds, and I get free seed

Here they are at day 13. I couldn't resist taking a quick peek at them before I left for the day. I only see five, but the sixth one is hopefully buried in there somewhere.

Aw, so cute!
I also hope the sixth one is buried in there!

I love this look, right after their eyes open, but before their feathers really come in. So cute!

I see five. The fifth one's eye is covered by the nesting material in the bottom right, between two of them.

The youngest is only four days old, so I hope he's still ok in there. I may be tempted to check on them this evening to make sure. Although if something happened, there's nothing I could really do about it at this point.

Wow, look at them all. I can't tell where one ends and another begins ... oh so tiny and yet alive and thriving. I am awed.

Yeah, I'd definitely check as if he died, he could foul the nest.

Normally, they're small enough to dry up pretty fast when they pass. But with lots of body heat under the others, that may not happen and it could cause an infection in one of the others.

Hopefully that's not the case and there's nothing to worry about!

I definitely see 5. There's the 4 heads, plus you can see the fifth one's body off to the far right.

I miscalculated. The youngest one would be 7 days old today, not 4. Yeah, I will definitely be checking when I get home. The suspense is killing me.

Horray for 6 little ones!
I was afraid to read when I saw the thread was updated!

So adorable!
Agh, you've got me sitting in my hands, resisting the urge to go peek in my gouldian nest! LOL Just keep telling myself that if I peek, they'll die.

Are you planning on keeping these cutie pies? I imagine so since they have names, no?

I am not sure whether I can part with them. I have been considering getting a double flight or a second flight so I can separate the sexes when these guys wean. I just have to figure out where I could put it. A lady at work wants a couple same sex ones, and that would leave four. I am already in love with Apollo and Aella....and Acantha....and....
