I love Star finches! I have a yellow faced Star finch, Merl, at the moment, and he's such a sweetie! I had a red faced, Fruit as well, but he passed away. Yours are sooooo cute!

This is Skyler, my boy. Wait till you see Sunny and Susie, they are super cute. Right now however they are usually head first in some food bowl or another, so it's rather hard to snap any pictures. Does your little fella eat like a starving eagle? I have never seen the likes of it before . Today they were into the eggs, couscous with insect pate, and grated carrots with cucumber and chopped carrot greens. It was a feeding frenzy.

Merl DOES eat a lot! He makes the most mess out of all my birds, including my Zebrafinch (Beaky) and my canary (Kevin)! He flicks seed all over the cage and room, and I have to vacuum clean it all up, sometimes several times per day! He also bosses my other birds around! He has a very strong attachment to his mirror, and feeds it a lot. I have three boys, and they're all very strong personalities!

So far, I find their personalities adorable and very sweet, but all three are still babies. I hope they stay as sweet as they grow older.
Does Merlin sing for you?

Merlin sings - a lot! He's always warbling away. A very soft, gentle song . I haven't had Gouldians but they look like beautiful birds too!

Skyler sings quite often now. I love his little chatter too. It sounds like he's saying: chirp-chirp, wow! Chirp- chirp, wow! It makes me laugh, because he usually does it when he's into the food. So I guess the menue is ok. with him.

Merl warbles away all the time - he's a happy little chap! He loves talking to the other two - my Zebbie, Beaky, and my boss bird, Kevin (canary!). Kevin is an old grump! (he's 13) and Beaky just loves him. So Merl is usually the odd one out, but he's such a happy little thing and sings to his mirrors, and to the others (they're all in separate cages) and to me, if I whistle to him
.
I adopted him from a pet store because he was bald and being picked on by the other finches - never regretted it.

They are lovely, lovely birds

Those pictures are gorgeous! Esp. the one staring at you! I'd love to stick a christmas hat on it and use the picture in a card! Ha Ha! Baby finches are sOoOOOOO cute! I forget they have such big feet!

Hello.
Skyler, has decided to try and get romantic with Susie. He was jumping her while she was eating. She just kept on eating, like nothing was happening. However, I had noticed Susie chasing Sunny away from Skyler. So I'm assuming Susie has decided to lay claim to the one guy.

It would appear, that I will soon have to be hunting around for another male yellow head. Poor little Sunny, is definitely feeling left out of the trio. Susie chases her away at every opportunity.
