Yup...figured I would have to make some kind of wood form to hold its shape. Almost like the way a lamp shade form is made from wire. Then I could attach an oval bottom with some sort of clips. It's definitely doable...my father in law could probably construct something gorgeous and functional. Maybe when he retires he can help me with this project. Then all i would have to do is grab myself a gorgeous male canary
. I would LOVE to see a pic of ilovetomp cage. It sounds like it might be close to what I have been looking for...especially if it can be hung.

I too feel that the OP was not clear in giving the dimensions.
'round and long' ? I'm picturing egg shaped or something.

I am often confused not only by cage dimensions given in posts, but by retailers measurments as well. Wish they would all standardize for clarity sake.
To me:
W = dimensions from left to right (width)
D = dimensions front to back (depth)
H = dimensions top to bottom (height)
at least that's the way I have always done it
