Finally got the add on section screened in. I just have a couple of areas to close in at the bottom to keep critters/visitors out. (you can see where I added a board across the bottom to close off a small section near the "gazebo" part. The birds love it and have been free to fly in and out for a couple of weeks now. I can see nests being built and lots going on. It's so exciting to watch! Now I'm trying to figure out where to "add on" a section to let my budgies fly free!!!

That looks great! Do you keep your birds out there year round?

Add on another section, make it L shaped and use the same entry door for both. Then your Budgies could fly free too.

Great idea!!! I am really thinking of the best way to utilize all the space and still use the same entrance. Thanks for the suggestion!

Your spacious aviary is looking awesome. Which kind of floor does it have?

The "gazebo" section has a solid flood floor and the flight off the entry door is grass. The finches are having a fabulous time!

That has turned out just great! You don't get much freezing weather in Beaumont, I think, but are you planning to put some plastic over the open panels in the gazebo to protect them in case?
