Today it dawned on me that my baby zebra finch Anduin MUST be a boy! He's had a black bar across his chest since his feathers appeared there! Today he is 21 days and he fledged early at 15 days old!

Is getting a big black bar like this normal before their first molt? I mean it showed up when his feathers first came in on his chest which was before 15 days

He's the only one that hatched, and he doesn't appear to be eating on his own yet but he's only 21 days old today so I'm not worried

I am jeleous because I have had 3 attempts and sitting with like 21 dead eggs, now she sitting on 3, my 4th attempt or should I say her 4th.

I am so hoping to get a family, I have done all by the book and got a lot of very welcome help from the kind people on this forum, so maybe my pair started to young as the breeder never told me to not put in boxes.

So, I am on the 4th attempt, 3 eggs and she started sitting yesterday night.

So, I hope soon I can be like you I am jeleous

My pair nested in a tiny clear plastic seed cup.... sooo..... >.>

they prove you don't need a nest box to breed, any ol' space will do XD
