Hello, I'm back!
I've been rather busy lately, but not busy enough not to get another bird, apparently
I just got my first Gouldian today. He's so preeeeety!

He has settled in just fine, those zebras are a bit confused (as usually - they're the boss, right?), the canaries are lovely as always and I'm just in awe.

I was in front of two gouldians, one with a purple chest, the other with a white one and I knew I was going to be there for two hours trying to decide which one is for me. I left home settled on getting a purple one but after I got there, well...
The white one kept looking at me funny, singing and tilting his head, so I fell in love (still thinking about the purple one too, but whatever I can't have everything)

So this little guy won my heart immediately

P.S. Stupid question, but I have to ask. Am I going to call his mutation "red head, green back, white breast" or is there a shortcut somewhere?

I'm sure you'll have him tamed in no time! They're super smart, Gouldians. You can see it by the way some of them look at you. It's like they're working to get you all figured out.

The shortcut is RH/GB/WB for mutation.

I also love the sounds that Gouldians make! It's so light. A sweet tinkle (especially when compared to the zebra's honks and beeps! LOL)

I know how you feel regarding purple versus white breast. They are both so beautiful that it's hard to decide. I ended up with purple breasted ones, but I still want some white ones, too.

I just woke up and went to see them. He seems to have learnt his way around the cage.
I rearranged the perches yesterday, so that they have even more room to fly. And they sure love it!

Gouldians really seem to enjoy each other. I daresay they're a bit more intelligent than some other species, so I feel like they "get" each other more than they get other finches.
