I don't think the kids would "see" much anyway since it's like one bird flying over the other for just a couple of seconds. Unless they are older kids I don't think they'll realize that was the 'act'.
What grade is it? Sorry if I missed that part.

You saw the picture of gomer if you have one of them in your classroom don't let him take them home

But I to think its a great idea to teach them the responsibilities of keeping a pet,they will never forget it

It's easy to get around the kids taking the birds home for the weekend. Just explain that for finches, every time they are moved is stressful for them and could make them sick, so they have to stay put.
