Hi you could see if you can get some antibiotics for him and really to stop it spreading you should issolate him. My grandad used to give his sick birds cold black tea, other than that i am not sure. Is there alot going on around him?

Is he still eating?

Are his poops normal, can you tell?

Any other symptoms like breathing issues?

What about any discharge from his nose? How long has he been this way?

Well he died right? Unless you do a necropsy on him you really won't know as to why he died. you have another Gouldin in the same cage? How is he/ she doing?

That's good. How long had you had the one that dies before he became sick? Now that you have one gouldin, you should think of getting another so he has a companion. It's hard for finches to be left alone without a cagemate.

So sorry about your poor birdie. There are times when it is obvious what's wrong, and other times when it's not.

Was this bird old by any chance?

I hope that your other Gouldian remains in good health. Once you make certain that this second bird is healthy, I as well would suggest finding a companion bird for it. Most finches don't do well as an only bird.

Best of wishes.
