Re: Does anyone here use the Finch Breeder Database?
I just updated mine yesterday. I've been quite bad about it. I'll get on the ball for a few days but the headache of recording every detail, and the fact that the birds display in order of how I entered them in vs. lumped by species (unless I click the species name) drives me a little nuts sometimes.
Amethyst Starling
BF and RT Parrot Finch
Chestnut-breasted Mannikin
Lady Gouldian
Owl Finch
Shaft-tail Finch
Society Finch
Star Finch
Strawberry
Tri-colored Nun
Zebra Finch
Diamond Dove
Bourke & Scarlet-chested Parakeet

If you NAME the birds with numbers in front of their names, they will display in that order.

Lori, thank goodness you got it worked out. I, too, use the Finch Breeder Database on almost a daily basis. When I've had a prob, there's someone you can e-mail.....probably in the HELP section.
Was there anything going on that those of us who use the database need to know so we can prevent problems???

I was typing a bird name when mine went belly up. Apparently Typed a / slash which the database does not like....... I was not even done typing.

Re: Does anyone here use the Finch Breeder Database?
I'm glad your back up and running, it's such a useful app.
I've named all my birds with a prefix such as 'soc' for society followed by a number, this way the're all listed under my birds with the different species all listed together.
I also class all young birds as 'lost' instead of 'in-stock' so it's easy to separate breeding stock from young. Only my stock birds show up in signature because of this which i also prefer.

Yes, that would be a first class catastrophe for me@MiaCarter. There must be a way to backup the data.

Far as I know the data is backed up on a server. I periodically export my birds (full list) to excel sheet. Nice simple backup.
Never had a days issue with database though.
